Obituary for LEON EULIS McMILLION

Leon E. McMillion was born on July 13, 1937 in Lobato, West Virginia to the late Mr. Ulysis and Mrs. Ida B. McMillion.
Leon graduated from Buffalo High School in Accovile, West Virgina in 1956. He was drafted into the United States military in 1960. Leon served in the Army from 1960 until he received an honorable discharge in 1965. In 1966, Leon moved from Lobato, West Virginia to Columbus, Ohio. He met and was united in holy matrimony to his late wife Arnetta Louise Penn in 1968. In this union, they raised seven beautiful children. While living in Columbus, Ohio Leon became employed by Laborers’ International Union of North America, Local Union #423. From 1966 through 1997, Leon helped build numerous facilities within the state of Ohio. One of his last construction project was at DSCC which ended with his retirement on July 31, 1997 after 31 years of service.
Brother Leon was ordained as an Elder in June of 1983 at Pool of Bethesda CLG under Bishop Joseph White. For the last 20 years, Elder Leon was a faithful member of Temple of Faith COGIC under Bishop Roger J. Hairston. He was very passionate about serving the Lord and was known for sharing the word and encouraging scriptures.
In 2005, Elder Leon married Minister Anita King. He loved relaxing and working with Anita by his side. They really enjoyed working at the Roger J. Hairston Food Pantry, picking up the weekly supply for the surrounding community. He was an avid constructer in his home. He enjoyed building sheds, knocking out walls and doing home improvements. Elder Leon kept busy.
He was predeceased by Arnetta Louise; sisters, Marion Alexis, Fredonia Robinson, and Zelma Ferguson; sons, Michael Penn and Douglas McMillion; and Stepfather Albert McDaniel.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Anita McMillion; wonderful children James (Tricia) Penn, Minister Sheila (Ronnie) Fleming, Anthony (Sarita) Penn, Kimberly Penn, Michelle (Elder C.W. ) Moody, Nakia King, Meloni Fisher, Shanika (Christopher) Brown, Nia (Christopher) Evergin, and Manny King-McMillion; Sister, Lois (Wheeler) Sparrow; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends Harry and Mingo.
