Obituary for DAVID LEE McGEE Sr.

DAVID LEE  McGEE Sr.
DAVID LEE MCGEE, SR. was born in Laurel, Mississippi on Friday, September 28, 1928, to the union of Luther McGee and Isabell Bender McGee. He was reared and received his formal education in Laurel, Mississippi. David married Alma Ruth and was blessed with six children.
In 1951, He moved to Columbus, Ohio with his wife and son, David Jr. After relocating to Columbus, David pursed training in the brick masonry industry, which laid the foundation for his life’s career. He was truly dedicated to his craft.
Blessed with eighty-nine years of life, our beloved David L. McGee, Sr. departed this life, peacefully, on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Grant Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Isabell Bender-McGee; father, Luther McGee; wife, Alma Ruth; seven sisters; one brother; sons, Andrew L. McGee and David Lee McGee, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Natalie Nicole McGee.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Luther McGee; daughters, Juanita McGee Madison, Byrdie (Glenn) McGee Martin, Linda (Gregory) Bayless, and Pam Harris; sisters, Ora Lee Washington of Laurel, Mississippi and Mildred Lindsey of Columbus, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.
